We may use information about your Nominate usage for:
- Analyzing usage trends to improve user experience and security
- Detecting illegal and/or fraudulent activity
- Carry out any other purpose for which the information was collected
Nominate is based in the United States and the information we collect is governed by U.S. law. By accessing or using the Services or otherwise providing information to us, you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the U.S. and other countries.
Sharing of Information
We share information about you in two primary ways:
- The information that you provide in a nomination (Title, Nominees, Video Content) will be directly shared with the friends that you Nominate and may also be publically viewable at any time.
We take reasonable measures to provide an environment where your information is protected from theft, misuse, and unauthorized access.
You may update or correct information about yourself by editing your account settings within our Services. If you wish to delete your account, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org, but note that we may retain certain information as required by law, for legitimate business purposes, or as part of our regular retention practices. We may also retain cached or archived copies of information about you for a certain period of time.
With your initial permission, we query certain aspects of your Facebook account (name, age, etc.) to help enrich the Nominate experience. We also request a list of your friends from Facebook to allow you to nominate them and possibly tag them on your wall. You can choose to stop allowing access to your Facebook account in which we will no longer be allowed to access your current friend list or other basic information. Note that this will prevent the application from working properly, because you will not be able to nominate friends.
Typical use of our app includes collecting location information to determine where a nomination was created. You have the option to stop the collection of location information through your device settings. Note, this may affect the quality of experience for our application.
Nominate may send alerts to your device in the form of push notifications. You can always deactivate these messages by changing the notification settings for your device. This is done on iOS by changing the overall notification settings or on Android by selecting the app-specific alerts settings for Nominate services.
